Triad trailblazers

History of the Club

The idea of an ATV club was talked over the  internet (www.atving.com)  by a few people back in 1999.  We decided it could be a good venture and agreed to meet in Greensboro and talk about it.  There were about 12 people at that first meeting.  Of the original 12 that met, 10 decided to form the club.

Our first task as a club was to decide on a name. After a lot of different ideas, we all agreed on the Triad Trailblazers. At the next meeting, Brian Brown had printed up a draft of the clubs bylaws, a charter and a set of rules for review and acceptance.  A few changes were made and everyone voted on them. We then set up officers, and a webmaster to construct a webpage. 

 

As time passed, the word was getting around about the Triad Trailblazers and we were getting new members at every meeting. Eight years later, the club now has over 100 members and is still going strong.

The original rules, bylaws and charter have been adjusted slightly over time, but the core values are very much the same as when we started. Safety is still one of the main focus of the club.

We hope our promotion of safety and the use of helmets over the years may have saved at least a few people from serious injury as well as helped to promote the sport we all love in a positive light.

Many of our members have made lifelong friends through the club as well as cataloging endless memories of the great times we've had together over the years.....and that’s something everyone can be proud of.
